Teresa Nelson, CSCS, USA Triathlon Coach

Teresa Nelson is the founder and owner of TN Multisports. With over seven years of triathlon coaching experience, her years of dedication to athletics have helped her define her career and goals around a multisport lifestyle.

She grew up in Port Orchard, WA, where her parents started her in gymnastics at the age of four. Years of flips and falls finally landed her in the pool at the age of 10. By the age of 15 she was competing at the national level and eventually received a collegiate swimming scholarship to the University of Nevada, Reno.

In 2000, Teresa completed a degree in Fitness Management and became certified as an ACSM Health Fitness Instructor, an NSCA Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a Pilates Instructor through the Pilates Studio New York, and a USAT triathlon coach.

Teresa’s first triathlon experience was Danskin 2001. She recalls the excitement of crossing the finish line for the first time as well as all of the great friends she made at her first race. Every year Teresa and her mother race together at Danskin as part of a mother-daughter tradition, and Teresa also participates in triathlons, duathlons, and running races of varying distances. When she’s not racing she’s cheering on her clients and spectating at various events throughout the year.

Teresa values being surrounded by and working alongside coaches and athletes who share her same motto and goals. She feels truly lucky to be able to do what she loves and continues to learn something new about sports, health, and general fitness on a daily basis.
