Bio:
I started doing triathlons in 2007 after 4 years of competitive running. I got started in triathlon after entering my first endurance duathlon and being pissed that I had to wait for the TRI-athletes to finish the swim before I could start my race. I didn’t know how to swim at the time but decided that day that I would figure it out and enter the world of triathlon. I ended up taking swim lessons with my kids who were 3 and 5 years old at the time and entered a sprint distance triathlon a couple months later. I was hooked.
My proudest/most important moment in my life was the birth of my daughter. She came 11 weeks early and was born in the back of my SUV. She is now a beautiful, healthy girl and my pride and joy. Other life achievements include taking my Dad to Germany for a life-saving operation. Sports-wise, my biggest achievements include qualifying and running in the 2008 Boston marathon (and PR’ing), and finishing Ironman Canada and running a negative split.
I joined TN Multisports through association. Mark Webb has been my training partner since I started running in 2003. I plan to keep going hard and prove to the younger athletes that you can still get ‘er done in your 40’s.
