Bio:
I’ve been doing triathlons since 2007. The combination of family, friends, and co-workers all challenged me to complete a triathlon. For someone like me who has been severely out of shape and needed a physical and emotional outlet, training for my triathlon was perfect. Being a new dad, I needed to get healthy and change my lifestyle, and without the physical demand to train (so I don’t drown or have a heart attack during a race), I’m not sure I would’ve had the dedication to stick with it. Now I’m hooked.
The emotional state of completing the first triathlon was amazing and has definitely been one of the best feelings I’ve ever had. (Although, I will point out that getting married and becoming a dad ARE the two best feelings I’ve ever had.)
I joined TN Multisports because having the “team” atmosphere is great and is certainly a bonus on the training side — it almost makes the WORK part of training feel fu. Having the guidance of the coaches and having structured workouts focused on making me a stronger athlete is something that is hard to do when training on my own. Lastly, my big sister made me join.
