Here is an update from Heather in her own words…
I am sitting here wondering how I can truly express my gratitude in words for all the amazing thoughts, well wishes, and donations. I’m not sure I can express how much I appreciate everything, and the gratitude I feel in my heart for all of you such wonderful people. I truly hope that I’ll be able to do the same for someone, so they feel as special and thought-of as I do now. (Of course, I’m praying that it doesn’t come at this extreme.)
As for an update on how I’m doing? Well, someday I’ll show off some before pics….but the after is sure not as bad, just endless dental appointments that are enough to drive a girl crazy. I’ve got a ways to go,
a bit of scar tissue on both lips and some broken teeth (I am lucky to have my lifelong dentist on my side for temporary fixes, before all the permanent ones begin in a few months, so I can look HOT while I’m grinning at all the delish Ironmen in Kona.) I now know what Botox must be like in the lips though, numb and without movement! I don’t think I’ll be getting that procedure anytime soon! But all in all, I’m grateful for no brain damage, thanks to Teresa’s fab helmet I was “borrowing” for my race the next day. Tragically, the helmet didn’t make it. Thanks to Rudy Project’s fab design though, my skull is in ONE PIECE! Me and my lopsided grin are back at work after some forced time off!
THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU! (again), and I hope to see all of you soon,
especially since I miss everyone!
Heather (aka H*)
